ArcLens
Privacy Policy

Your career data is yours.

ArcLens exists to read jobs against your career — not to trade in your data. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, where it goes, and how to get it deleted.

Last updated: July 3, 2026

Who we are

ArcLens (“we,” “us”) operates getarclens.com, a decision-support tool that reads job descriptions and resumes against each other. For anything in this policy, contact us at [email protected].

What we collect

Three categories, all of them things you can see:

  • Account information. Your name, email address, and password. Passwords are stored only as cryptographic hashes — we cannot read them.
  • Career content you give us. Resumes and career documents you upload, the Career History you build inside the tool, the Lenses you define, and the job descriptions you paste or submit for a read.
  • Technical and usage data. Server logs (request paths, timestamps, status codes), IP addresses used for abuse prevention and rate limiting (stored hashed in our telemetry), and basic product events such as when a read or resume build ran and whether it succeeded.

We do not use advertising trackers, third-party analytics scripts, or social-media pixels.

How we use it

  • To provide the service: producing job reads, fit scores, and tailored resume drafts from the content you give us.
  • To keep the service safe: rate limiting, abuse prevention, and malware scanning of uploaded files.
  • To operate and improve the product: diagnosing errors, measuring performance, and understanding which features are used.
  • To communicate with you: service emails such as password resets and replies to messages you send us. We do not send marketing email without your consent.

AI processing

Producing a read, score, or resume draft requires sending the relevant text — the job description and, for signed-in features, your career content — to third-party AI model providers for processing. We use these providers under commercial API terms that prohibit the use of your data to train their models.

Your resume and Career History are not shared, sold, or used to train external models — by us or, under our agreements, by our providers. Job descriptions you paste are processed to produce your read and are not redistributed.

Who else touches your data

We use a small set of infrastructure providers to run the service: cloud hosting, a managed database, AI model providers (above), and an email delivery service for transactional mail. Each processes data only to provide its service to us. A current list of providers is available on request at [email protected].

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where required by law or to protect the service and its users from abuse.

Cookies

  • Session cookie. Set when you sign in, so you stay signed in. HttpOnly and secure.
  • Trial cookie. Set when you use the free Job Read without an account, so we can honor your free reads. It identifies your browser, not you.

That is the full list. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Account data and Career History: kept until you delete your account.
  • Job descriptions and their reads: retained for up to 90 days, then purged.
  • Intermediate build artifacts (working files produced while generating a resume draft): deleted automatically after 14 days.
  • Logs and telemetry: kept for operational periods and then rotated or purged; IP addresses in telemetry are stored hashed.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Passwords are hashed with a modern memory-hard algorithm. Uploaded files are validated and scanned for malware before they are processed. Access to production data is restricted, and administrative actions are logged.

No system is perfectly secure. If we learn of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you without undue delay.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Email [email protected] from the address on your account and we will act on the request within 30 days. Deleting your account removes your account record, Career History, uploaded documents, and generated results; residual copies in encrypted backups expire on the backup rotation schedule.

Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California), these rights may be backed by law — GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA. We honor the requests regardless of where you live.

Children

ArcLens is a career tool for working adults. It is not directed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, notify signed-in users. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated policy.
